PERFORMANCE

Performance is an important characteristic for drivers. You want to have a ride that’s always ready for the road and provides the capabilities to take you anywhere you want to go.

MAZDA CX-30
How Much Power Do You Need?

The Mazda CX-30 offers two engines, each boasting impressive outputs:

  • Skyactiv®-G 2.5L 4-cylinder engine: 191 horsepower and 186 lb-ft of torque
  • Available Skyactiv®-G 2.5L Turbo engine: 250 horsepower and 320 lb-ft of torque

On the other hand, the Honda HR-V only offers one powertrain: a 2.0L 4-cylinder engine that produces 158 horsepower and 138 lb-ft of torque. So, if you’re looking to experience a more dynamic ride, the Mazda CX-30 is the model for you.

Built-in Athleticism

The Mazda CX-30 also includes i-Activ AWD® with Off-road Traction Assist on all trims to provide more confidence when your adventures take you off the pavement. You can experience the HR-V's Real Time AWD with Intelligent Control System™ with a trim level upgrade. However, even after doing so, you may not experience strong, stable footing with the Honda, as it doesn’t offer similar off-road functionality.

TECHNOLOGY

Technology matters to many drivers who want a full sensory experience on the road. This means having the ability to find your favorite tunes and access all the information you need.

MAZDA CX-30
Quick and Easy Connectivity

The Mazda CX-30 comes with a standard 8.8-inch infotainment system display. It includes Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ integration, allowing you to pair your device and access everything from music and shows to navigation.

The Honda HR-V also shares these smartphone integrations, meaning you can boot up your favorite playlists and podcasts as you cruise. However, you may find it easier to navigate infotainment apps in the Mazda since the Honda’s standard display is only seven inches.

Take Charge

The infotainment systems in either SUV can be controlled by touch. However, the Mazda CX-30 also allows drivers to take command with their voice or with a Multifunction Commander control.

The latter feature is an ergonomic dial conveniently placed within reach, so before you drive, you can scroll your infotainment screen with little effort. As you’re driving, make use of the voice command feature to direct your Mazda CX-30 and remain attuned to the road.

Unfortunately, the Honda HR-V goes without these tools.

SAFETY

Your vehicle needs to help keep you safe and sound on the road so you can enjoy your journeys and reach your destination. Both models are prepared with driver-assistance suites.

MAZDA CX-30
Peace of Mind Comes Standard

The Mazda CX-30 comes with safety features including:

  • Smart Brake Support
  • Lane Departure Warning System
  • Lane-keep Assist
  • Mazda Radar Cruise Control with Stop & Go
  • High Beam Control and more!

On the other hand, the Honda HR-V's comparable Honda Sensing® technology offers near-matching systems to those found on the Mazda CX-30.

Awareness-Boosting Tools

A feature unique to the Mazda CX-30 is Driver Attention Alert. This intelligent system uses forward-facing sensors that keep an eye out for distracted or drowsy behavior. If any is detected, this system will alert you to take a break or switch drivers if possible.

Without a similar feature in the HR-V, you’ll need to know your own limits, especially during long-distance drives.
